Newly arrived stationery from Italy and the US

Freshen up your paper supply with new offerings from our vendors.

We’ve added classic letter writing paper, flat cards, and folded notecards from Italian paper company Rossi 1931. These papers are made of high-quality 100% cotton, featuring elegant traditional designs with gold accents.

Send the colorful beauty of a garden or wildflower meadow to someone’s mailbox with the fabulous designs from Botanica Paper Co., based in Iowa. All the papers, cards, envelopes, and washi tape are richly illustrated with botanical art by the company’s founder.

Wax Seal Stamps

Have you ever tried a 3D wax seal stamp? The details in our new stamps from Olive Paperie Co. are simply stunning! We can also order custom and monogrammed stamps from this company in a wide variety of shapes and styles. This is a great option for business logos, personal monograms, or weddings.

We’ve brought in new glass-handled wax seal stamps, plus an expanded selection of wax colors and mini brass handle stamps. Come find your favorite style, whether it’s bold, jewel-toned colors or soft, muted hues.

Handmade Books in Stock

We are continuing to learn new bookbinding skills to add to our studio offerings, in addition to restocking items that have become favorites. Bringing together some new decorative papers and new binding techniques, we’re creating blank and lined books in a variety of styles and sizes.

One of the new designs uses the Secret Belgian Binding technique. This method of stitching the covers and text signatures allows not only for the book to lay flat, but for the covers to turn completely back, similar to a spiral-bound notebook. These 8.5×5.5 books are also refillable. Just bring it back to the studio and we’ll swap out your filled pages with fresh blank or lined ones.

Enjoy the clean, simple design of our Japanese stab-bound books. We’ve created two sizes for this hand-stitched binding: a traditional 8.5×5.5 portrait and a ledger-style 3.5×8.5 landscape. Each softcover book contains approximately 40 blank pages. The cover accent pieces are Japanese chiyogami paper.

Have you heard about our subscription boxes? Manuscript Quarterly is a curated sampler of stationery items designed to inspire you to pick up your pen a little more often and connect with friends and loved ones. Boxes are $45 per quarter. Our current Summer box is still available through the month of August. The Autumn box will be released on September 1, but can be pre-ordered anytime. Transcription Services

Bayside Transcriptions, our transcription and research service begun in 2017, is our primary business. Stephanie, the transcriber, offers assistance at reasonable rates for folks needing help reading old handwritten documents. Perhaps you have old letters or diaries that are difficult to decipher or not in good enough condition to pass around to family members. Having a transcribed copy makes the document readable, searchable, and shareable.

Or, perhaps you’re the family historian but have hit a roadblock with some messy court records or don’t know where to look for that next clue to build your family tree. Stephanie’s research and transcription skills may help you clear that hurdle and move forward with your quest. Find more details on our Services page, or send us a message to see how we can help with your project.

Make plans to enjoy the 23rd Annual Eastern Shore Artisans Guild Studio Tour!

The Historic Onancock School hosts more than a dozen artisans as part of the larger Shore-wide holiday Studio Tour every November, the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to explore such a wide variety of skilled artisans’ work: from oil paintings to carvings, and fiber artists to pottery. Although Manuscript Stationery is not a member of the Artisans Guild, our studio will be open during the tour.

Come visit us at Manuscript Stationery in Studio 101 at the Historic Onancock School, 6 College Ave., Onancock. While you’re here take time to stroll the beautiful creekside Nature Trail and visit the other shops and artists’ studios in the building.

Until next time, we wish you happy writing!
